expanding access

Activate Inclusion Programs

For many families, participating in everyday events isn’t simple—it requires extra planning, extra cost, and navigating spaces that weren’t designed with them in mind.

Activate Inclusion exists to change that.

By combining direct support, inclusive programs, and accessible infrastructure, we’re creating communities where young people with disabilities can fully participate—not just be accommodated.

adaptive bike camps

There’s nothing quite like the moment it clicks—the first independent ride, the confidence, the freedom.

Adaptive Bike Camps are designed to help young people with disabilities reach that moment, surrounded by support, encouragement, and community.

activate inclusion days

Activate Inclusion Days are all about showing what’s possible when access is built in from the start, inviting young people and families to explore adaptive sports and recreation in a space designed for full participation, connection, and fun, from archery and dance to soccer and cycling, each experience created to build confidence, spark joy, and foster a true sense of belonging.

How activate inclusion works

Circle 2_Red.png

Real change happens when everything works together

We believe access is not a luxury—it’s a civil right for every young person in Texas. And when we remove barriers,  we open the door to so much more than just participation.

That’s why Activate Inclusion brings together direct support, inclusive programs, accessible infrastructure, and community awareness into one connected approach. Through Heart of Variety grants, we provide financial support to families—guided by lived experience—so real needs can be met without added stress or delay. Our events and camps are designed for full participation, creating space for young people with disabilities to try new things, build confidence, and experience moments of joy, connection, and autonomy.

At the same time, solutions like the Mobile Accessible Restroom make it possible for families to stay, engage, and fully be part of the experience—while public activations and storytelling help shift how communities understand and prioritize accessibility.

Because when everything works together, something powerful happens—young people aren’t just included, they’re able to show up fully, families feel supported, and communities begin to expect accessibility as the standard, not the exception.

In 2027, Variety Texas will become a signatory of the Disability Inclusion Pledge, committing to grant at least 30% of organizational revenue directly to children with disabilities and their families through Heart of Variety grants.
