PROGRAMS: APPLICATION FOR INDIVIDUAL SUPPORT
In 2007, Variety's Board of Directors made the strategic decision to direct all funding through the Heart of Variety Fund directly to families in need throughout Texas. The newly revamped Heart of Variety Fund now has four giving areas: Kids on the Go!– equipment, products and other services designed to improve a child with limited mobility’s access to his/her community Kids in the Know! – specially designed equipment, products and other services for children with learning disabilities and other barriers in their current educational settings Kids in Need! – assists children with their medical needs other than mobility related resources Kids in Action! – open area of funding for items and services that do not necessarily fit within one of the three targeted areas of funding Funding requests are reviewed periodically by Variety's Heart of Variety Fund Committee, who in turn provides recommendations to Variety's Board of Directors.
