VARIETY OF TEXAS EVENTS64th Annual Golf Tournament & Texan of the Year Award RecapThe 64th Annual Variety, Texan of the Year Awards Dinner and Golf Tournament, held at the beautiful Four Seasons Resort and Club – Las Colinas, was an overwhelming success with over 200 supporters in attendance for the dinner followed by a full field of golfers the next morning. The event began on the evening of September 27th with a cocktail hour and silent auction on the patio of the Pavilion at the Four Seasons. Dinner and the Texan of the Year Awards Ceremony followed, honoring RealD Co-Founders, Michael Lewis and Josh Greer. The evening concluded with an emotional presentation of an adaptive tricycle to 7 year old, Lena Hitt. Lena was born with Pulmonary Atresia. After her third open heart surgery, there was a medical error which rendered her mentally delayed and unable to walk. Lena can use this tricycle to build not only her confidence, but the strength in her legs, so that she will one day walk again. The next morning golfers enjoyed a breakfast at Byron’s, followed by golf and an Awards Luncheon immediately afterwards in the Pavilion. At Variety, we believe that every child with special needs deserves the chance to reach their potential regardless of their physical or social limitations. Because of the overwhelming support we received from our community from this event, Variety has the ability to make this belief a reality for each of these children.
